New Jersey writer, Brian Donohue was out scouting snowmen in
his neighborhood, and began to wonder if snowmen becoming the
latest casualty in the emergence of the over-programmed childhood
and the death of unstructured play? Are all the kids sitting inside
building things with digital Minecraft blocks instead of real life
snowballs? Is the snowman dying off?

kids may never leave house as much as they used to - but there are
other reasons why we may not be seeing as much snowman activity
we did in past years. Eckstein says, Frosty, Frosty the Snowman helped
bring the decline in the art of snowman making.
