The Farmer and the 50 Foot Snowman

Another large snowman sighting - Could this be the final one before the end of the season?

This 50 foot snowman built by farmer, Greg Novak, in Foley Minnesota.

"Building a snowman isn't original," Novak said. "Building one this big is a little different."

Novak started the snowman two months ago from the snow that was crushing his greenhouses. With the help of some friends and a lot of heavy machinery, Novak created a winter mascot.

Fifty feet of snow later the snowman, nicknamed "Grand Daddy", is complete.

"It's been a long, hard winter. We might as well have fun with it. If you can't beat it, embrace it," Greg said.
